AG Heylen Energy BV, in a joint venture with AG Real Estate, installed a photovoltaic system for Ve-Commerce in Venlo. In 2020, this was the most powerful solar rooftop installation in the world and served as a pilot project for Heylen Energy. It achieved a shared goal: reducing the client’s ecological footprint while delivering both environmental and economic benefits through a custom-tailored solution.
Ve-Commerce is a warehouse located in Business Park Trade Port Noord, with a total warehouse surface of 140,000 m². The building consists of modular units of 15,000 m² each.
The installation was completed on an existing operational site—an area where Heylen Energy has extensive experience, always executing without significant disruption to daily operations. The energy generated was fully injected into the grid via dedicated transformer stations. Moreover, the project had to be operational within a strict deadline to qualify for the SDE++ subsidy.
Results: The completed installation has a capacity of 18 MWp.
